Two designs in one pattern, inspired by traditional Sanquhar gloves.

’Sanq Onz’ has a traditional symmetrical grid-like pattern repeat.
’Show of Hands’ gives the tradition a bit of a twist with motifs from a deck of cards instead.

Traditionally, Sanquhar gloves were made in different sizes by changing needle sizes or thickness of yarn, while maintaining the stitch-pattern repeat.
Here, the yarn is the same for both sizes; the needle size alone varies.
Knit each digit to your required length.

The yarn used here is the lightly spun Shetland used in traditional Fair Isle jumper knitting – it’s not hard-wearing, so keep your gloves for best, perhaps.
