The Santa Cruz Shawl is part of a series of knitting patterns named for the various islands in the Channel Islands National Park. Santa Cruz is the biggest of the islands, with miles of hiking trails, sandy beaches, and the remnants of an old sheep ranch. Because it’s named for the largest of the islands, the Santa Cruz Shawl is the largest item in the pattern collection.
This shawl is a semi-circular shawl in three colors. It is worked up mostly in a soothing garter stitch with a simple, 8-repeat, knit-on lace border. It is a great fit for adventurous beginners or for more experienced knitters who want a project they don’t have to look at too much.

This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
