Santa Paws Stocking
After making this little Christmas Stocking for “Winnie”, my sister’s Cockapoo, I realised I needed to add it to my pattern collection, so that every member of the family is included at Christmas.
This is a traditional Christmas stocking, worked in two colour, stranded colourwork. There are written instructions and charts for the colourwork. There are blank charts to plot your pet’s name and also a star motif if you don’t want to personalise the stocking. There are instructions for knitting it using a short circular needle and the magic loop method.
This pattern is worked top down with a Wrap and Turn short row heel. You may substitute your choice of heel, ie short row, FLK, or afterthought. There are directions for two different toe patterns, a wedge toe and a rounded toe.
Finished Measurements: cuff to toe - 28 cm / 11 inches
Needles:
5 mm (US 8 ) 80 cm circular needles/dpns (or a short circular)
4 mm (US 6) 80 cm circular needles/dpns for toe & heel.
* If using a short circular you will need either a longer cable for magic loop or dpns when the circumference gets too small nearing the end of the toe.
Yarn: Folklore Yarns Traditions - Donegal Yarns Aran Tweed 40g (70 yds/ 64 m) x 2 contrasting colours is more than enough.

- Any aran weight yarn can be substituted but be mindful of yardage.
