Santa´s Little Crew
Let me introduce you to my new collection, “Standing Amigurumi.” Why standing? Because I often see cute crocheted dolls that we want to display as decoration on a table or shelf, but due to their construction, it’s not possible. That’s why I thought about maintaining the essence of amigurumi but giving it a different touch: serving as decoration, telling a story, and having the versatility to change poses.
The first doll in this bundle is Santa Claus. He’s approximately 19cm tall from the bottom to the top of his hat. His outfit resembles a long red cape that covers his legs and feet. This design is simple and minimalist, and even the stitches I used are classic crochet stitches. There’snothing complicated about it; it’s ideal for beginners. Santa has a flat base that allows him to stand upright, and his arms are sewn using the “yarn-through method”, which uses a long piece of yarn and a darning needle to sew the limbs to the body. In this way, Santa can move his arms and make gestures.
This bundle is completed with a lazy elf and a reindeer who accompany Santa in the making and distribution of toys. An e-book with all three characters together will be available soon; I’m working on it :-)
