Need a quick, easy holiday decoration or gift? Love knitted toys but hate fiddling with all the little pieces? This little felted Santa with an amigurumi vibe can be whipped up in no time with wool scraps. Each body piece is cleverly constructed flat and seamlessly in garter stitch, felted, and then joined with a quick whip stitch. Knit up and felt a little beard that can be whip stitched into place. Directions for his hat are provided in two sizes and for either flat or in the round. Tips for felting by hand are also included. This pattern has been designed to give the knitter many options for needles and yarn so that you can use what you have on hand.

Many thanks to the wonderful ravelry test knitters for this pattern: birdymom, luchita, and whistlesandbells. Also to Mary H.

Skills: For the most part you’ll need to be able to knit, increase and decrease, pick up and knit a few stitches, knit in the round or purl.
