This cuddly bear is ready to help Santa in his workshop to load up the sleigh for the big day. Bear’s onesie elf outfit has a decorative collar and buckle, and topped off with an elfin hat.

The textured bouclé yarn bear pieces are knit in garter stitch, and the majority of the outfit pieces worked in stockinette stitch. This pattern incorporates stranded colour-work, knitted stripes, a 3 needle join, and a single crochet border.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the bear and outfit are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES:
Three 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).

RECOMMENDED YARN:
King Cole Pricewise DK, King Cole Dollymix DK and King Cole Cuddles Chunky.

NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, toy filling, stitch holder, stitch markers, a 4mm crochet hook, domed buttons for eyes, and a toy safety nose.

SIZES:
One size only - Bear stands at 40cm tall (from bottom of paws to tops of ears without the hat).

For intermediate knitters and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, knitting stripes, and seaming to finish.
