Santa would never make it around the world in one night without his trusty reindeer. Use this coaster when you leave out his cookies and milk. A set of these can be worked up very quickly, and would make a great hostess gift for holiday parties.

The antlers are knit flat first, and are knitted directly onto the coaster. No seams, and no picking up stitches. The Santa’s reindeer coaster is worked seamlessly in the round starting from the outer cast on edge decreasing to the center.

I have found working from the outside in helps me to finish projects faster. This way you tackle the largest rounds at the beginning when you are most excited about the project. You build momentum as every round gets smaller and quicker. After the coaster is finished the button eyes are attached, and the smile is embroidered on. Transform these coasters into ornaments by inserting an ornament hook through the knit fabric.
