This square was designed as a part of the ‘Friends of the world 1015/16 CAL’ - created by the Facebook group ‘CAL - crochet along’. The CAL consists of 24 squares by different designers and was created to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the group.

All the squares are designed to measure 12 x 12” when made in an Aran/Worsted weight yarn and with a 5 or 5.5 mm hook. I made my squares with Drops Alaska and Nepal (the Alaska squares became slightly bigger) and also in New Lanark DK wool and Scheepjes Catona (4-ply cotton). It works equally well in all. You can leave out rounds towards the end if you want it smaller or add more tr/dc rounds if you want it bigger.
