This fairly basic hat pattern creates a stretchy fabric that can accommodate a wide range of head sizes. You can adjust the size and length of the hat by switching to smaller needles or by decreasing the number of K2/P2 ribbing rows at the beginning of the hat.

There’s an error in the pattern in the rows 10-21 section:
Where the pattern calls for repeating rows 10-21, that ends up starting a purl rib in the middle of your established cable. Instead, repeat row 15, then k6, p2around for 5 rows, repeat row 16, k6,p2around for 5 rows, then repeat row 15 and continue with the pattern as written.
