Except for the first few rows in garter stitch, the rest of the piece is worked in half fisherman’s rib stitch. Begin by working the back of the hood and set it aside. Cast on to work the extension section then join it to the edge of the hood and work them together.

Gauge / With 4.5 mm (US 7) needle:
20 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking. (This is provided for knitters to make a swatch and to use it as a guideline when selecting yarn)
16 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in half fisherman’s rib stitch after blocking

The orange version:
Gepard Pura Lana, 50% wool, 50% Alpaca, 115m/50g, Color 240: 3 Balls. Approx. 345m

The dark blue version:
Gepard Woolia, 100% Organic merino wool, 133m/50g, Color 780: 2.6 Balls. Approx. 345m

The white version:
Lion Brand Heartland, 100% Acrylic, 230m/142g, Color 098U: 1.5 Balls. Approx. 345m

Needles:
Cast on using 4 mm (US 6) needles, then switch to 4.5 mm (US 7) needles to complete the hood.

Other Materials:
Stitch markers, an extra 4.5 mm (US 7) needle for the 3-needle bind off and for the extensions.
