Story Time:

Once upon a time, in the beginning of January, I learned that there was an art competition that I could participate in. My first thought was ‘do they accept knitting projects?’ which made my friends laugh because they know I’m mildly obsessed. Anyway, I asked and it turned out that I could turn in a knitted project just as long as it was a pattern that I had come up with myself. Hence, this thing. I designed it over about 24 hours of mad sketching and swatching, and the next day I began knitting it up. Here is the pattern I used.

Materials:

1 ball of sock weight yarn, approx. 450 yds. or more and a pair of US size 6 knitting needles, or a long circular

Note:

I have finished! After blocking the top still rolled a little, so I gave it a hem. Also I blocked the garter edges into scallops because why the heck not. If you want to block with wires to give a smooth edge then go for it!
