The beautiful silk yarn doesn’t need an intricate stitch pattern: pure stockinette stitch is a great way to show its natural, slightly irregular beauty. The Sasu top is a simple summer top, easy to style and easy to wear.
It’s worked bottom up in the round, then separated at the underarms to work back and front. Finally, shoulder straps are joined with the 3-needle method. The pattern contains some techniques to get neatly formed finished edges and curves.
(You can also choose to use a provisional cast-on and, work the upper part before finishing the body). Please share your knits on social media (Instagram #SASUTOP)

SIZES
1 (2 / 3 / 4 / 5) (6 / 7 / 8 / 9)
Finished bust circumference: 68,5 (78 / 88,5 / 99 / 108,5) (119 / 128,5 / 139 / 148,5) cm
(27 (30.75 / 34.75 / 39 / 42.75) (46.75 / 50.5 / 54.75 / 58.5) inches)
Sample shown in size 2 worn on an 87 cm bust circumference. ( ~9 cm of negative ease)

EASE
Sizing is a guide only and you should pick the finished measurement size closest to the wearer’s measurements
It’s recommended to wear it with negative (or no) ease of 0-10 cm (0-4 inches)

NEEDLES
Circular needle to obtain gauge: recommended 4,5 mm (US 7) with a length at least of 80 cm (32 inches) // additional needle (similar size) for 3-needle bind-off
GAUGE
19 sts x 28 rounds/rows = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) in stockinette stitch, blocked

YARN
DK weight or yarn to obtain requested gauge (the Soft Silk is called fingering-weight yarn due to its yardage, not its thickness, usually you get the requested gauge with DK yarn)
E.g.: BC Garn, Soft Silk (fingering weight; 100% silk; 350m (383 yds) per 100g) in 011 fog

METRES NEEDED
320 (380 / 460 / 550 / 630) (730 / 800 / 900 / 1000) m (350 (420 / 500 / 600 / 690) (800 / 870 / 980 / 1090)) yds
-->Yardage may vary a bit from knitter to knitter, yarn to yarn! Have always a bit more in stock to be on the safe side.
-->if you have limited yarn, it’s recommended to start with a prov. cast-on, finish the upper part and then work top-down until you run out of yarn. This way some of my testers could make a size 2 with exactly 1 skein of the original yarn.
