The Saturno Pants are a timeless and cosy design, perfect for keeping your baby warm and comfortable on chilly autumn and winter days. Thanks to their simple construction, these trousers are ideal for everyday wear. They also pair beautifully with the Saturno Hat and Saturno Cardigan to create a lovely matching set.

The Saturno Pants are worked from the bottom up in stockinette stitch, starting at the lower edge and working towards the waist. First, the front and back pieces are knitted separately. Then, both pieces are sewn together along the side seams and inner leg seams. Finally, the waistband is folded inwards to create a casing for the elastic.

The original sample was knitted in 100% organic wool. However, you can also choose your favourite yarn in a suitable weight.

PATTERN DETAILS

Sizes: 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months and 3 years.

Yarn: Worsted / 10 ply / 9 wpi.
Suggested yarn: MONDIAL Bio Lana (50 g = 100 m), 100% organic wool.

Approximate yarn requirements:

Colour A: 115 g (160 m) – 150 g (200 m) – 170 g (230 m) – 200 g (280 m) – 215 g (300 m) – 250 g (340 m).

Colour B: 10 g (14 m) – 10 g (16 m) – 15 g (21 m) – 15 g (24 m) – 20 g (28 m) – 20 g (32 m).

Needles: 4 mm (US 6 / UK 8) and 5 mm (US 8 / UK 6), straight or circular needles.

Stitches Used: Stockinette Stitch, 1 × 1 Rib.
