This shawl is a lovely display of the beauty of the long repeats of yarns such as Noro. The heart shape of the shawl creates a garment that hugs the shoulders and easily stays in place, versus shawls that you have to continually tug or pin in place to keep on.

Directions are both written and charted and provide instruction for both the beaded and non-beaded version of the shawl. Size 5 needle and 22 sts/inch gauge for yarns in the 300-350 meter range (i.e. Silk Garden Sock). Size 6 needle and 20 sts/inch for yarns with more than 350 meters (i.e Kureyon Sock, Liberty Wool Light, Sauberball).

Feel free to substitute yarns in the suggested weights as desired. The shawl has been successfully completed in both Noro Silk Garden Sock and Noro Kureyon Sock. It could also be done in a yarn such as Liberty Wool Light. The contrasting colors can use either sport or DK weight yarn. The shawl could also be knit in worsted weight yarns if you change the needle to an appropriate size and plan for a larger amount of yarn. Beading a worsted weight version would not be suggested, as the yarn would be difficult to thread into the beads.

Beaded version requires 350 size 6 beads.
