Saunter Jacket
JACKET
A classic shawl-collared jacket for smart casual wear in temperate weather, lightweight and breathable, with a medium drape. Tailored for comfort with a fitted collar, sloping shoulders, tapered raglan sleeves and either a straight body profile or an optional method to shape the waist for both women and men. The jacket is worked from the top downwards in a honeycomb mesh that holds its shape well. Construction begins with a V-neckline, then the collar is shaped with short rows, then further components are simply worked onto each other. To suit a stripey yarn, the collar runs in a contrasting direction to the body. More adventurous makers may wish to use a plain yarn with the optional lace motifs, which can be placed as desired to meander across the garment. #sizeinclusive
Two versions
Two versions are provided with different honeycomb stitches: SAUNTER has a firmer drape, and SWAGGER has a softer drape. Both versions include the lace motifs and accompanying tutorial. Photos of the alternative version will be uploaded soon.
