Savu-sweater is a casual, loose-fit basic knit. The short body can easily be adjusted, since the sweater is knitted from the top down. The back panel has a few short rows and the hem curves 2 cm longer at back.

Savu-sweater is worked seamless from the top down. The sweater features French shoulders. Back panel is increased into shoulder width using M1R and M1L on every second row. The shoulder stitches of the front panel are picked up from the diagonal shoulder edge of the back panel. The neckline is shaped with short rows. Sleeves are worked from armhole down to cuffs using DPN’s.

Savu sweater is worked in worsted weight PMK alpaca/cotton. If you choose another material, test the gauge carefully and if necessary, change to larger needles to get the right tension: 17-18 sts on 10 cm (4”). You can also work this pattern double stranded. Choose a soft DK-weight yarn and knit it together with light mohair.

Yarn: PMK alpakka/puuvilla (56% alpaca + 44% cotton, 100 g = 250 m), you need 300-350-400-400-450 g.
Alternative yarn: PMK alpakka/merino (60% alpaca + 30% merinowool + 10 % polyamide).

Needles: 5 mm (US 8) and 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, 80 cm (36”) and 5 mm (US 8) and 4 mm (US 6) DPN’s.

Gauge: 17-18 sts and 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) in stockinette st.
