Sawdust socks were inspired by the shavings which fly off of my lathe as I make fibre art tools. The curls and shavings which come off are important to notice, as it informs the technique used, and if any adjustments need to be made to the chisel, angle, or speed. Long smooth shavings suggest a long smooth cut. These shavings are also useful to smooth the wood as a finishing touch. In addition to woodworking, these socks were inspired by my new favourite shoes. While I have enjoyed many, many years with delicate high heels, my middle-aged feet now ask for Blundstones.
