This pattern requires three 50g skeins of Yarn Undyed Baby Yak DK or Baby Camel DK, OR two 100g skeins of Yarn Undyed Baby Alpaca DK - all available as a kit at www.yarnundyed-knits.com.

The cowl is designed to be thick, cosy, and to stand high against your neck and chin, so that when it’s snowing you can really bury down into it. It is double thickness, thanks to allowing the fabric to curl in on itself, so along with being braided, this creates a really thick, dense fabric. The baby yak, camel and alpaca are all fine, drapey yarns, so although the cowl is thick and warm, it won’t make you sweat!

The pattern is really simple, with the only complicated part being the actual weaving at the end. I have provided step by step instructions to do this.
