Scallop Falls Shawl is worked from the top edge to the final scallop at the point of the triangular shawl.

This pattern has a unique Lace Foundation start. No need to keep track of a long chain or prevent it from twisting. You will start by creating a lace foundation framework. No need to cut your yarn from start to finish of the entire shawl. The Lace Foundation Framework disappears in the finished project.

I have included a step-by-step photo tutorial of the Lace Foundation Framework included in the pdf. You will work in the round all the way around this framework, then the body of the shawl is worked in rows turning back and forth, from the top row to the last single scallop at the end. Working this from the top-down means that similarly to corner-to-corner your work will decrease as you go every scallop row, seeming to speed up as you go. I love this feeling of running downhill in crochet, I hope you do too!

This pattern can be widened or narrowed by the length of the foundation framework. Instructions are given in the pattern for doing this.
