Scalloped Shawl

Yarn requirements:
2 skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Sock in contrasting colours. Pictured in #851 Turner and #803 Ochre, using 4.00 mm needles
OR
3 skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Silky Merino, pictured in #430 Smoke, using 5.00 mm needles

A note on the increases:
Increases are maintained throughout the entire piece, even after you begin working the scalloped edging.

Once the scallop repeats are established, the stitches between the scallops and the center stitch and between the scallops and the edge stitches are simply worked in stockinette with a purl ridge on the 6th row.

For the striped shawl, a note on numbers provided by KNITTINGinHI:

“…Okay, so I took out my calculator and checked all the numbers…It’s a simple typo, the number should be 197 instead of 198. Then when you add the 9 stripes to the sock size that adds 72 sts to make 269 st. and that works out perfectly for the lace set up row…”
