A simple lace repeat creates a stunning scalloped edging and a beautiful sock.

Easily remembered patten makes for an ideal purse project

The eyelet design gives some wiggle room on the circumference of your calf and foot. The 72 stitch cast on is ample for me and I’m no little girl!

Foot length and leg length are customisable and will affect yardage needed.

Use any sock yarn you like. I used a locally hand dyed variegated yarn, but the scalloped pattern would look equally as good in a self striping.

*** the pattern tells you to knit the leg until it measures 1 inch shorter than your desired length.
A short row heel adds about 1” to the height of a sock. So, if you like your sock to measure 8” from cast on edge to the floor, you will need to knit in pattern for SIX inches, then knit in pattern and stockinette as directed, then turn your heel. This will give you a sock which measures 8” from cast on to floor.

I will amend the pattern shortly to make this more clear ***

Thanks to Laurie who asked the question and got me to thinking ;-)
