Pattern uses 4 5.0mm (or size needed for gauge) DPNs, and 1 16” circular needle sized 5.0mm (for sizes toddler to adult). Hat is worked in round and the bill is picked up and knit. Plastic canvas sized 10 (found near embroidery section of craft stores) is used to fill the brim. Sew on snaps (found in the notions section of a craft store) are used to secure the bill to the hat. Hat has many sizes so pattern is color coded (ie: different sizes are assigned colors) to help the knitter keep track of his/her place.
