Scandi Sleep Sack
Scandi Sleep Sack, this is a pattern for all knitters! This simple and modern baby sleeping bag is made of only knit stitches (garter stitch) and is a great knitting project for both inexperienced and more experienced knitters. The pattern includes 3 sizes, from newborn up to 2 years.
It has a beautiful, neat edge and has fringes at the bottom and twisted strings to close the sack.
The pattern is available in English, Norwegian and Swedish and has many illustrating pictures and links to videos showing how to make the neat edge and how to make and attach the fringes and the twisted strings.
Skill level: Beginner
You will need:
- Circular needles US 6/ 4 mm/ UK 8, 32 in/80 cm
- Yarn (merino wool, cotton, acrylic or any other DK/light worsted/8 ply yarn)
- Tapestry needle
- Crochet hook for attaching the fringes and twisted strings
Sizes:
0-6 months: 20 x 28 in / 50 x 72 cm
6-12 months: 22 x 33 in / 55 x 85 cm
1-2 years: 24 x 37 in / 60 x 95 cm
Materials:
450 (550) 800 grams of Drops Merino Extra Fine or any other yarn in the DK/8 ply/worsted group such as Debbie Bliss Rialto DK.
In yards: 1035 (1265) 1840
1 skein of Drops yarn is 50 grams and 115 yards/105 meters.
