I suppose you’re wondering who Scarlett is. Well, I’ll tell you. She is the little sister of the main character in the first novel I published, titled The Seer. It’s a contemporary fiction novel with a sci-fi twist and some other cool stuff. And throughout the course of the novel, the main character, Sterling, is knitting a pair of gray gloves for Scarlett. One day I decided that I wanted to find out what the gloves would look like. So I grabbed yarn and needles and got to work. Before I knew it, I had a finished design. And since then, I’ve added other patterns to the line.

This cardigan is a top-down raglan with a twist. Instead of the typical plain stitches between the raglan increases, I’ve put in braided cables. In fact, as you can see in the photos, those braids are all over this cardigan! And with the garter ridges as accents, I think it’s a pretty unique design. The instructions are written so that you can customize the fit of your cardigan as you go. Knit in bulky-weight yarn, the pattern is quick, fun, and quite rewarding.

(If you knit this in a different weight, make sure you send me the link to your project page--I’d love to see!)

SIZING NOTES
Bust: 32 (36, 40)“ - S (M, L)
Approximate Yarn Requirements: 5 (6, 7) skeins of Berroco Comfort Chunky

{ I say approximate because the sizing (bust, length, sleeve length) is fully customizable depending on every knitter’s preference regarding fit. }

NOTE: larger sizes can easily be made since this pattern is a try-on-as-you-go design! I just did not have it tested, so I can’t give approximate yarn requirements. If you would like to test a larger size for me in exchange for a free copy of the pattern, feel free to reach out!
