The Scholars Mate Vest is knit bottom-up from the waistband, with built-in shaping and checkerboard color work. Finish with fun details like a fold-over collar and sleeve binding for a finished, professional look.

Perfect as a single layer, as the bottom layer with a cute jacket, or layered over a long sleeve, this is a versatile year round vest.

Gauge is 14 stitches by 14 rows, and I used size 13 needles although a lot of testers made gauge with size 11 needles.

This pattern is written in 10 sizes. There is 4 inches of built in positive ease on each size. The bust sizes are: 28 (32, 36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56, 60, 64), which will result in an actual measurement of: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48) (52, 56, 60, 64, 68)

You’ll need:
MC: 225 (241, 280, 313, 327) (382, 414, 441, 479, 531) yards
CC: 146 (162, 191, 222, 234) (274, 303, 324, 355, 396) yards
