I imagined Schoodic Bay Cardigan, while playing on vacation. Knit with a relaxed and loose gauge in DK/light worsted weight, it’s perfect for exploring the shore, mountains, or downtown…dress it up or down and you’re ready to travel!

Pattern includes options for looser 3/4” length sleeves tapering at the forearm or a more gradually tapered long sleeves.

Cardigan is worked flat from the bottom to armholes. Back, right and left front are worked separately from armholes to shoulder. Shoulders joined using the 3 needle bind off. Front bands and collar stitches picked up and worked flat.
Sleeve stitches are picked up and knit in the round.

Sizes: 28.25 (32, 36.25, 40, 43.5) (48, 52.25, 56, 60.25, 64)” / 72 (81.5, 92, 101.5, 110.5) (122, 132.5, 142, 153, 162.5) cm finished garment width.

Intended to be worn open, with 0-2” negative ease.

Gauge: All gauges are calculated per 4” / 10cm finished, blocked fabric. Stockinette and US 9 / 5.5 mm: 18 sts and 23 rows/rnds
Ridge Pattern and US 9 / 5.5 mm: 16 sts and 28 rows/rnds
Moss st with US 9 / 5.5 mm:
15 sts and 22 rows/rnds
Double Moss st with US 9 / 5.5 mm: 14 sts and 22 rows/rnds
RT rib st with US 8 / 5.0 mm: 18 sts and 22 rows/rnds

Yarn: DK or light worsted
Recommend choosing a solid, tonal, or slightly tweedy yarn to best demonstrate the cardigan’s texture.

Long Sleeve sample:
Queensland Kathmandu DK 100, 8 / Burgundy

3/4 Length Sleeve sample:
Ontheround Cottage DK, Sea Foam
(Ontheround Cottage Fingering held double or Plush DK would also be lovely.)

Yardage:
750 (825, 930, 1025, 1160) (1295, 1395, 1470, 1605, 1690) yds / 686 (754, 850, 937, 1061) (1184, 1276, 1344, 1468, 1545) m
Subtract approx 10-60 yds / 10-55 m if working 3/4 Length sleeves.

Notions:
Tapestry needle
Stitch holders or waste yarn
