Scottish Diamond Gloves are a simplified form of the celebrated Sanquhar gloves. Named after the town of Sanquhar in the Dumfries and Galloway region of Southwestern Scotland, these gloves are still made and worn today. This part of Britain has been associated with excellence in glove knitting for hundreds of years.

A pattern written in such extraordinary detail that even a beginner will feel confident. Each size’s thumb and finger gussets even have their own separate charts! Ms. the Purl’s interest in knitting history is evident through her groundbreaking book Canada Knits, and her great love for ethnic knitting traditions of all kinds shines through every page of this work. Yarn used is Shetland 2 ply jumper or fingering weight. Patternfish
