ABOUT THE PATTERN
Scrabs 2.0 is an updated version of the Scrabs sweater, originally designed in 2022 for my Domestika course, where I teach how to knit with beads. The main technique featured in this design is adding beads with a crochet hook, making it an ideal project for learning and practicing this method. For this new version, I refined the garment’s construction and fit while preserving the essence of the original design. The result is a refreshed sweater that remains true to its character, featuring beetle and diamond motifs worked with beads and the playful texture that defines the design.

Construction
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, with short rows to shape the neckline.

The yoke uses beadwork, while the body and sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch, allowing the yoke to stand out as the centerpiece of the design.

Ribbing needles (N2): US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles. Cables: 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm long.

Crochet hook for beading US 14/10 – 0.75 mm, row counter (recommended), 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn or 2 stitch holders.

ACERCA DEL PATRÓN

Scrabs 2.0 es una versión actualizada del suéter Scrabs, diseñado originalmente en 2022 para mi curso de Domestika, donde enseño a tejer con mostacillas. La técnica principal de este diseño consiste en insertar mostacillas utilizando un ganchillo, lo que lo convierte en un proyecto ideal para aprender y practicar este método.

Para esta nueva versión, perfeccioné la construcción y el calce de la prenda, manteniendo intacta la esencia del diseño original. El resultado es un suéter renovado que sigue siendo fiel a su carácter, centrado en un motivo de escarabajos y diamantes tejidos con mostacillas que define este diseño.

CONSTRUCCIÓN
Este suéter se teje en circular, sin costuras, desde arriba hacia abajo, utilizando vueltas cortas para formar el cuello.

El canesú tiene un dibujo de mostacillas trabajado con ganchillo. Como el cuerpo y las mangas se trabajan en punto jersey, el canesú se convierte en el foco principal del diseño.
