Scrapknit NO3 Cupcake
There will be leftovers no matter what project you finish, and this pattern is the 3rd in a series that uses scrap yarn in a specific quality. In this pattern a fingering weight yarn is held together with one strand of mohair.
Very important pattern information -this pattern is not written by a big business or a professional writer. It is written with my own words driven by a passion for knitting, crafting and writing. If you have any questions, please just ask. I check my messages and emails several times every week.
I have a pincushion I crocheted many years ago that looks like a cupcake, and I decided to make a knitted version that would fit this series of patterns. I couldn’t quite decide which size was the most practical, so I ended up with 3 sizes. On the largest I have my longest pins, on the medium size the ones I usually use and on the smallest my sewing needles. This little project can also be used as decoration, they look very nice together. If you want them as decoration, you can sew on beads or sequins for a little extra something. When they are used with my colorful pins, they look very nice.
WARNING -if they are used as a pincushion, they must be kept away from small children. Needles are not toys.
Techniques used in the pattern:
- Cast on around a ring of yarn
- Increase 1 by knitting front and back
- Picot edge
- Knitting stitches together
- Decrease left and right knit stitch
- Decrease 2 with one central stitch
All techniques are shown on the youtube channel knit_tech.
As always - please send me a message if you have any questions in the pattern. I check my messages several times per week. Since I now have a varied selection of patterns in my shop, I have added a 25% discount when you have 4 or more patterns in your cart. There’s no code needed, but it only activates when it’s 4 or more patterns in the cart.
