Written for both 4 ply and DK (Ravelry wont allow me to list under both weights).

A great way to use up those left over ends of yarn that you can’t bring yourself to bin. Obviously proper mini skeins will work well too ;)

This is a lovely, warm, double wrap cowl that is knit as a tube in the round and then joined using Kitchener Stitch (see note below).

Instructions are super beginner friendly with a clear chart to help you know when you are to change colours. Progress boxes to tick off as you go.

Great Netflix knitting with 6 sections that are all knit stitch and 6 textured sections that are effective but easy to memorise patterns using a mix of knit and purl stitches. All sections separated by very short garter stitch sections (again, just knit and purl stitches used here too).

SKILLS NEEDED

Knit and Purl

Slip stitch (this will prevent ‘stripe jog’)

Youtube tutorials for PROVISIONAL CAST ON and KITCHENER STITCH are linked in the pattern. Linked here for ease too :

Provisional Cast On

MATERIALS NEEDED

4 ply :

  • Needles : 2.5mm dpns or circulars using magic loop (or even a 25cm sock circular!)
  • Yarn : Main 65g(260m/283y), Mini Skeins x 6 = each 10g (40m/43y)
  • 1 x removable stitchmarker/progress keeper

DK :

  • Needles : 4mm dpns or circulars using magic loop (or even a 25cm sock circular!)
  • Yarn : Main 75g (184m/168y), Mini Skeins x 6 = each 15g (37m/33y)
  • 1 x removable stitch marker/progress keeper

Your main colour should contrast well with your minis or scraps. The minis will show the patterns of their sections better if you use a solid, semi solid or tonal. Highly variegated will lose the patterns.

I can’t wait to see what colour combinations you come up with so please do be sure to start a project page or tag me on Instagram (@beanieboat).

If you like the look of this pattern it would be a huge help to me if you would give it a like. Your support of my little dream is so appreciated. Every ‘like’ helps and it’s a known fact I do a tiny happy dance each time I get a notification. I am a terrible dancer!
