A cozy neck warmer in two versions, cowl and infinity scarf, that combines MARLING and fun to knit BOBBLES for a colorful stash busting project. Marling is simply holding 2 or more strands of different colored yarn together as you knit, creating a fun randomly speckled effect. This is great for using up scraps from previous projects, especially if you make a lot of socks or fingering weight shawls! Think of your scrap stash as an artist’s palette and have fun experimenting with blending yarns. The sky is the limit on color combos!

Three strands fingering weight yarn are held together. You will need approximately 750-800yds/685-730m for Cowl version and approximately 1100-1200yds/1005-1100m for Infinity Scarf version. These numbers are the combined yardage of all the yarns you will use.

Note about when to change yarn… I only changed one yarn at a time, staggering the changes across the project. When to change yarn is entirely up to you! Let the yarn dictate, by knitting until one ball runs out, or make stripes by changing colors more frequently. You can also create a fade effect by gradually replacing yarns with the next shade darker or lighter, throughout the project. Your imagination is your only limit! I hope you have as much fun as I did playing with color :)
