This pattern is not written to be used with any specific needle type, it can be knitted using DPNs, Magic Loop, or 9” circular needles. The pattern is customizable, stripes can be any width, but preferably with 2 rows or more between charts. It is designed with an afterthought heel and to be knitted from top down. It can be knitted as a truly scrappy sock with a new yarn for each stripe or with a base color between stripes to help your stripe colors stand out more.

This sock is a great scrap buster with only about 15yds needed for each stripe color if you plan to do a truly scrappy sock. It is also great for a mini skein set with a base color. One mini skein set and one full skein of base color could make 2 pairs if you plan your socks out well!

This pattern is also a great introduction to colorwork! If you have been wanting to try colorwork but aren’t sure how to go about it, this pattern is an easy first pattern. Be sure to watch a video tutorial on how to keep your yarn floats loose or you may have a sock that is very tight to get over the heel!
