This is the perfect pattern to use up all those little bits of leftover sock yarn that, if you’re anything like me, you just can’t bring yourself to throw away! And who doesn’t think it’s adorable to have a hairband to match your socks? Note: This pattern assumes that the knitter is familiar with how to knit short rows. If you’re thinking “What on Earth is that?” then I recommend for you to check out some of the many wonderful short-row-tutorials available on YouTube before you begin.

Gauge is approximately 1 inch for 7 stitches or 9 rows, but does not need to be tremendously precise since the knitted fabric can be stretched over the hairband a bit. Also, the gauge may need to be altered somewhat depending on the specific kind of hairband blank you are using, if it does not match the measurements of the banks I used in the pattern.
