How many scrappy projects can you make before you finally clear out your stash of odds and ends? For me, it’s one oversized cardigan and two pairs of slouch socks. It’s such a great feeling turning a pile of “trash” into something useful and intentional. The trimmed ends from these projects are now collecting in a jar in hopes of being brushed into some handspun for a truly zero-waste lifestyle.

These Scrapsody Socks are designed to be customizable to suit your scrap stash, with options for varying lengths and styles. If the Bohemian Scrapsody pattern is too large and intimidating for you, perhaps learning the marling technique on a smaller project will be more comforting. (Plus they’re super rewarding because they knit up QUICK!)

There are 3 sizes included in the pattern.
S (M, L)
7 (8, 9)” / 18 (20.5, 23) cm foot circumference

Measurements are of the unstretched sock.

Choose size based on foot circumference + 0.5-1” of negative ease.

Foot length and sock height are adjustable by changing the number of pattern repeats.

Scraps ranging from lace to DK weight, with a combined equivalent of aran weight yarn.

Crew Length: 146 (192, 235) g
Slouch Length: 185 (237, 285) g

Please be advised that wool requirements and finished size measurements are approximate. Actual values may vary based on garment size, yarn, needle size, and gauge.

This pattern requires knowledge of:

  • Reading patterns with multiple size options
  • Holding yarn double/triple…etc…
