Design Overview
Alternating colorwork stripes create a wavy texture from brim to crown. The garter stitch brim is worked with fewer stitches to match the gauge of the main body. The hat is finished with I-cord “tentacles” on the crown.

Yarn: DK (CYC #3) ~220 yds (200 m)/100g. Sample: BWM Rustic Tweed
Needed: ~ MC 110-120 yds (100-110 m), CC 90-100 yds (82-92 m)
Gauge: 26 sts & 30 rnds = 4”/10 cm in colorwork (blocked)
Needles: 4 mm (US 6) circulars and DPNs or size to obtain gauge
Notions: Marker, needle, tape, scissors, waste yarn
Finished Circumference: 18 (19, 20)“/45 (48, 50) cm, stretching to 20 (22.5, 24)”/50 (57, 60) Height: 8 (8.25, 8.75)“ / 20 (21, 22) cm.
