I used a gorgeous sparkly Curated Yarn Co DK Mini Fade Set of 5 colors (4 of them) however, 2 colors can be substituted. (The yarn is slightly more fingering/sport weight as I knit it)
If using 4 colors, this pattern uses approximately 87yards/80m per skein. If using 2 colors, 175-200 yards/meters total per skein.

The motif represents waves (traditional Faroe Island motif) and comes from a Nordic Knitting book. The cowl starts with a short 5 rounds of ribbing followed by 10 repeats of the colorwork pattern and ribbing again. It’s very quick and pretty! The final dimensions are 9” length by 30”circumference (it’s very stretchy). It is easy enough for a beginning knitter who is starting colorwork.
