“Sea Life” is a simple homage to the oceans, their beautiful creatures and colourful life, and so much forgotten by all of us.

It is a relaxing pattern that can be made by all crocheters, with different skills. It uses overlay mosaic crochet and mosaic tapestry techniques. If you are an adventurous crocheter and a patience one you will be fine with the tapestry parts. If you prefer you can do your blanket using only the regular mosaic crochet technique.

The blanket is divided into 6 parts. The first 5 parts will create the blanket body. The last part will be dedicated to the border. There are 9 different patterns distributed in the first 5 parts of the CAL. You can play with the patterns or repeats to create other house decor itens, besides blankets.

All information about materials, size, stitches and pattern notes are in the Introduction File. Also a mosaic tutorial and border tutorial are available in this file.

Pattern is written in English (US Terms). It has a Spanish, German, Dutch and French translation, and a left-handed version too. It has step-by-step written instructions, a mosaic tutorial and a border tutorial with photos for every row and steps, charts, and lots of pictures to guide you through all the CAL parts.

As my previous mosaic CALs, this pattern is great to help you reduce your yarn stash. Colourful blankets are just gorgeous.

Sea Life CAL was hosted in OneSkeinofLove Crochet group, on Facebook. You are so very welcome to join, share your progress photos or doubts. The group is a a very welcoming and helpful one.

Materials

In my sample I used Durable Cosy Extra Fine yarn and a 3.5mm hook. You are free to use whatever yarn and hook you want, and all the colours you want. It is all up to you.

Finishing Size

The final size of the blanket is 95 cm x 142 cm (37” x 55”), approximately. You can customize the size of your blanket by adding or decreasing repeats of the pattern, but keep in mind that this will affect the amount of yarn required.
