This shawl is a laceweight triangular shawl, with an Estonian style edging and stitches. It has alternate panels of Arrowhead lace and my favourite Estonian 3 gathered stitch, set off by garter ridges between them. I made mine in a laceweight single yarn and added silk mohair to the edging and garter ridges for extra misty luxury.

The lace stitches are all on the right-side rows and the wrong sides are largely purled. The instructions for this pattern include charts for the lace sections as well as complete written instructions.

I blocked my shawl to approximately 75cm 30in deep, with a span of 150cm 60in, however the final size will vary according to your own choice of yarn and needle, as well as your knitting tension.

The shawl is knitted from edging to the centre top in one piece. Observant knitters though, will spot a seam after the edging in my original shawl. I made mine from the top down, but because the edging has to be knitted from the outside in, I have amended my pattern so it is all made in one piece, starting from the bottom edging. An advantage of this is that each row is shorter than the last! I also increased the width of the repeat in the arrowhead lace so it is in line with the lace in the edging.
