I designed a special blanket for each of my three children during pregnancy. It was my way of relishing in the anticipation of the upcoming miracle. I was only a few weeks away from delivering my third bundle of joy when the Sea of Dreams was published. The first pattern photos, of course, didn’t include the beautiful two week old baby seen in the now available pattern! The Sea of Dreams is still my favorite baby blanket.

This elegant pattern is written for three sizes, a “lovie” of 16 X 16 inches, a stroller blanket of 24 X 32 inches, and a crib blanket measuring 30 X 40 inches. Instructions for the border pattern are written with full abbreviations, and the lace pattern is written and charted for personal preference. All measurements are given in US and metric.

You don’t need to use a provisional cast on for this blanket, but should you like to try, check out our Crochet Provisional Cast On video tutorial on our YouTube channel.
