Designed for Sea Bre’s Yarn and the 2025 Puget Sound LYS Tour.

The winds blowing off the water always make a cozy hat that overs the ears a must. Cables along the brim bring to mind the tangles of seaweed found along our Whidbey Island shores.
Playing with a different style of hat constructions, I hope you have crafting and flaunting one of your own.
Yarn:
2 skeins - Double Sunday by Sandnes Garn
(50g/118yds each)
100% merino, DK/light worsted
(choose 2 matching skeins for a one color hat, or 2 coordinating colors for a different look)
Needles and Notions:
-US6 (4.0 mm) 16” circular needles (or size needle to get gauge)
-same size DPN’s or magic loop for top of hat decreases
- stitch markers
-cable needle
-tapestry needle (for weaving in ends and seaming)
Gauge:
10st/14 rows = 2” (5cm) (in stockinette)
28st/ 28 rows = 4” (10cm) (in cable pattern, before blocking)
