SEABORN is a fun summer tee with an all over stripe pattern and a decorative shell pattern at the edge of the body and the leeves. To ensure a perfect fit for everybody this pattern includes many bust and sleeve circumferences that can be chosen independently. On top there are instructions on how to alter the length of the body and the sleeves.
So your SEABORN can either be a cropped top with short sleeves or a dress with long sleeves. You could even make matching tops for you and your child.
To make the pattern this flexible it is necessary that the knitter does a little calculation - but don’t worry, it is nothing that you need to think about or figure out yourself. The pattern tells you very clearly which numbers you need to enter into your calculator.

SEABORN is worked seamlessly from the bottom up and the shoulders are closed with a Three Needle Bind-Off. It is made from a cotton, viscose and linen blend yarn that is perfect for summer and has a lovely drape to it. This material is a little heavier than it would be if a woolen yarn of the same yarn weight was used instead. This weight causes the fabric to drape in a way that creates the illusion of waistshaping even though the top is knitted straight from the bottom up.

I hope you will like it just as much as I do! Happy knitting!

I would love to see your SEABORN on Ravelry or on social media. It is always very exciting to see all your beautiful works. So I would be happy if you use this hashtag #seaborntee for the tee and tag me @herbgarden.knitwear!

This pattern went through tech editing and test knitting.

SIZES
There are
27 body sizes: from 56cm / 22” to 238cm / 93.75” and
17 sleeve sizes: from 20cm / 7.75” to 100cm / 39.25”
Every bust sizes can be combined with every sleeve size. All individual sizes can be found in the images.

CHOOSING A SIZE
SEABORN is intended to be worn with 8-10 cm / 3.25-4” of positive ease around the bust and 2-3 cm / 0.75-1.25” of positive ease around the upper arm. This means that the body of the garment is supposed to be 8-10 cm / 3.25-4” larger than your bust circumference and the sleeve is supposed to be 2-3 cm / 0.75-1.25” larger than your the upper arm circumference.

When in doubt which size to choose, I recommend going for the size with bigger positive ease. Pictured is a top with a bust circumference of 105 cm / 41.5” (size B8) on a 95 cm / 37.5” bust with 10 cm / 4” of positive ease and a 35 cm / 13.75” (size S4) circumference sleeve.

Please be aware that the given value are only estimates and can vary if you use a different yarn than the suggested one, a different needle size (even if you get same gauge) or if you make alterations to the pattern (e.g. a longer body / longer sleeves).
