Seafret is a one size hat which will fit most adults and teenagers comfortably. It has a 46cm / 18” circumference and is 21cm / 8 1/4” tall, though the pattern gives instructions to easily change the height, if you would like to knit a more slouchy hat than pictured.
It knits up quickly and the cable pattern continues up the crown, with carefully placed decreases.
Suitable for advanced or adventurous beginners, it would be a good pattern for those who are fairly new to cable knitting.
You will need up to 100 metres of any Aran weight yarn which you can achieve the gauge with and creates a fabric that you are happy with, 4.5mm / US 7 dpns / circular needles, 5mm / US 8 dpns / circular needles, a stitch marker, and a cable needle
