A pattern great for Advanced Beginners or Easy-level crocheters, this Seal Stuffie works up quickly with minimal supplies required. This pattern is written in US terms. The pattern includes written instructions, along with photographs to help you place the pieces.

For this pattern, you will need a 4.5mm crochet hook if you have tight tension. For those with a loose tension, or prefer to work with smaller hooks, size down to a 4.0mm or even a 3.5mm hook.

In one of the photos, there is a blanket yarn version that one of my testers made. If you decide to go this route, you’ll need a 10mm crochet hook, and blanket yarn. My tester used around 200 yards of Bernat Blanket in the main body color, and then around 15 yards of the ball color.

Worsted weight yarn in a body color
Worsted weight yarn in a ball color
Embroidery thread (or black yarn)
Optional: Safety eyes and nose
