The Seashells by the Seashore Scarf consists of a syncopated brioche pattern with increases and decreases that form seashells in wavy water just like along a seashore.
The construction of the scarf is kept simple as a rectangular scarf that can be increased or decreased in length depending on your preference.

The scarf is framed by a basic selvedge edge, and all increases and decreases are only worked in the first of the 4-row brioche repeats; in the following 3 rows, the stitches are worked as they appear. The full pattern repeat comprises 48 rows, i.e., twelve 4-row pattern repeats.
The combination of DK- and fingering weight yarn adds extra dimension to the look of the scarf, which shows the seashells and waves on both sides alike in inverted (‘syncopated’) colours.

The pattern includes an introduction to 2-colour brioche knitting, with an explanation of the stitches, basic construction, increases and decreases.
