Seashells Legwarmers
This pattern is created by combining stretchy two-colour brioche with much denser double-knitting. These legwarmers are chunky and warm. This pattern is not entirely reversible.
I recommend that you get acquainted with brioche and double knitting separately before knitting a pattern that combines both. This is a complex pattern for advanced knitters.
The pattern has been tech edited by Aimée of KnitSpinCake, and test knitted by a volunteer group. The PDF is free from viruses and contain only safe links.
Finished measurements
One size (adult). Circumference 31 cm (16.5 inches), length 42 cm (12.5 inches), or your desired length.
The model wearing the legwarmers in the picture has a 39 cm calf circumference at the widest point. The legwarmers will look bulky around the ankles.
Yarn
To knit the sample I used Novita Wonder Wool, DK weight (100% wool, 112 m/ 122 yds; 50g/ 1.8 oz). You can use any wool yarn of similar weight.
A: 4 Balls of colour A (light colour)
B: 3 Balls of colour B (dark colour)
Needles
Double pointed needles (or your choice of needle for small circumference knitting) in sizes
2.5mm (US 1 ½) and 3mm (US 2 ½).
Gauge
To make swatching easier I recommend making the swatch in stockinette on 3mm needles.
Gauge: 26 stitches + 36 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette stitch
