This reversible garter stitch lace was inspired by sashiko embroidery designs, and it reminds me of waves and shells and a day at the seashore.

The shawl begins at the bottom point, and the lace repeats every 14 rows. Since the ending can be started after any repeat, it is easy to customize the size. The garter stitch combines with an elastic cast-off create a wider top edge for a wonderfully wearable scarf or shawl.

Designed for lace yarns, it also can be knit in a variety of fingering and Shetland/sport/DK weights.
