SEASHORE STROLL is a top-down in the round textured yoke sweater. It has many features to choose the perfect sweater for your body and season.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS

• Size 3.5mm / US 4 circular needle, 80cm / 32” length (or size needed to obtain gauge) to knit the garment and sleeves. If not using magic loop for sleeves, then a set of double pointed needles will be required.
• Size 3.25mm / US 3 circular needle, 80cm / 32” & 40cm / 16” length (or 0.25mm / 1 US size smaller than gauge-size needle) to knit the neck band and sleeve cuffs. If not using magic loop for sleeves, then a set of double pointed needles will be required. Spare needle or smooth waste yarn for holding live sts. Tapestry/Darning needle Stitch markers: 3. One unique.

GAUGE
23 sts x 36 rnds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x 4”) in stocking stitch worked in the round on largest needle.
23 sts x 44 rnds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x 4”) over Rnds 1 – 44 in Yoke Textured Stitch pattern chart on page 11, worked in the round on largest needle.
Gauge is very important, please see Construction notes.

Tip: Block and pin swatch, and leave to dry.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
Seashore Stroll is worked in one piece, in the round, from the top down. The EOR marker is placed at the back centre.
Gauge: Gauge is particularly important in this project, especially the Rnd gauge in the Textured Yoke. Please knit a gauge swatch in the Yoke Textured Stitch Pattern and adjust needle size accordingly. Please note that many testers reduced needle size for the yoke and resumed to a larger needle size for the remaining stocking stitch for body and sleeves. If you obtain round gauge below 42 rounds, you run the risk that your yoke will be too deep.

There are three neck options for casting on:
a) A ribbed neckband (B1 in schematic on page 5)
b) A non-ribbed neckband (B2 in schematic)
c) An attached I-cord neckband (B2 in schematic)
If you cast on the non-ribbed neckband, there are instructions available should you change your mind later and want a ribbed or an I-cord neckband.

Short rows are worked for heightening the back neck area of the sweater which are followed by a series of textured stitch patterns that form the yoke. Blocking your yoke after the textured stitch sections to allow the yoke to relax to its finished state. Instructions and guideline measurements for this are given in Appendix 1.
After this you proceed to sleeve and body separation.

The body may be worked straight or have a shaped waistline. The hem has two options,
a) a garter, eyelet and pennant hem (shown in sweater sample), or
b) a twisted rib.

Finally, the sleeves are worked from bottom of the yoke to the cuff. There are also two options for the sleeve cuff as per the hem.
