Seaside is an openwork lace cowl. The lace pattern is a simple stitch: easy to memorize, fun to repeat and perfect for showing off your favorite hand-painted fingering-weight yarns. This cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up, and with the addition of buttons can be worn in a variety of different ways.

With the ends unbuttoned it is perfect for sunshine and warmer weather, showing off the openwork lace stitch. With both ends buttoned together, it becomes comfortable, doubled fabric, great for layering once the night air cools down. And because the stretchy lace drapes so beautifully, it can also be worn over the shoulders as a shawl, ready for a night out on the town!
