Like most seaside attractions, the Seaside Darling Beanie is cheerful and fun, the perfect day off. The pattern is ideal for when you need some instant gratification - it works up quickly and easily, and it’s almost entirely mindless. It’s available in a full range of sizes and includes notes for adjusting the brim, circumference, and length of the beanie.

Yarn and yardage
165yds/40g for Baby, 190yds/45g for Toddler, 210yds/50g for Child, 250yds/60g for Adult S, 290yds/70g for Adult M, 335yds/80g for Adult L
The sample uses single ply, but works up beautifully in plied yarns too. It stripes perfectly with a self-striping yarn, would look amazing in a gradient, and shines in a tonal, but a variegated yarn will obscure the pattern details.

Gauge
24 sts and 19 rows = 4”/10cm in sc blo. The pattern includes customization notes if you prefer to work to size rather than swatching for gauge.

Size
Available sizes: Baby 15”/38cm; Toddler 17”/43cm; Child 19”/48cm; Adult S 21”/53cm; Adult M 23”/58.5cm Adult L 25”/63.5cm
The brim is designed to have approximately 2.5-3”/6-8cm of negative ease for a snug fit, and the ribbing will stretch to fit comfortably when worn. If you prefer a looser beanie, work one size up or add extra repeats by following the customization notes. For best results, take measurements rather than relying on age and size.
Pattern includes notes for making brim wider and narrower, adjusting the brim circumference, and making the beanie longer or shorter.
