Samhain, literally summer’s end, is the Irish word for November. It is also the origin of our modern Halloween. Enjoy the magic of autumn as you wear your own Season of Samhain fingerless gloves to pick apples, carve pumpkins, and trick-or-treat. The letters of the word Samhain are spelled out in the pattern using Ogham, the ancient tree alphabet of Ireland.

These gloves are worked from the bottom up, leaving a gusset for the thumb that you will finish at the end. Directions are given for a small/ average size and in parentheses for a large size. The pattern also includes charts and written direction for both left and right gloves.
